Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally share a ring at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 11 December 2026. Without a previous meeting to go on, anyone studying the Fury vs Joshua odds can look at the next best thing: the four men both have faced.
Fury arrives at 35-2-1 after outpointing Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April. Joshua is 30-4 after surviving two first-round knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga in Jeddah in July. Their shared opponents are Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, Francis Ngannou and Oleksandr Usyk.
Wladimir Klitschko
Fury got to Klitschko first. On 28 November 2015 in Dusseldorf, he took the Ukrainian’s WBA, IBF and WBO titles by unanimous decision, with scores of 115-112, 116-111 and 115-112. Klitschko was 39.
Joshua met him 17 months later at Wembley, in front of 90,000. He dropped Klitschko in round five, was knocked down himself in round six and stopped him in round 11. At the stoppage, two judges had Joshua ahead (96-93 and 95-93) and the third had Klitschko in front 95-93. Klitschko was 41.
Fury won on points against the younger version. Joshua won inside the distance but had to get off the floor to do it.
Dillian Whyte
Joshua fought Whyte for the vacant British title at The O2 on 12 December 2015. He was rocked in round two before recovering to stop Whyte at 1:27 of round seven.
Fury faced Whyte at Wembley on 23 April 2022, defending the WBC title in front of 94,000. A right uppercut ended it at 2:59 of round six, with Fury ahead on all three cards at 50-45, 49-46 and 48-47.
Both men stopped Whyte, but only Joshua was in serious trouble along the way.
Francis Ngannou
This is the clearest gap between the two. Fury fought the former UFC heavyweight champion in Riyadh on 28 October 2023, in Ngannou’s professional boxing debut. Ngannou dropped Fury with a left hook in round three, and Fury won a split decision: 96-93 and 95-94 in his favour, 95-94 for Ngannou.

Joshua met Ngannou in Riyadh on 8 March 2024. He put him down in round one, again in round two and finished him with a right hand at 2:38 of the second round.
Oleksandr Usyk
Neither man has solved Usyk, and both lost to him twice.
Joshua lost his WBA, IBF and WBO titles to Usyk by unanimous decision at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 25 September 2021. The rematch in Jeddah on 20 August 2022 was closer: a split decision, with one judge scoring it 115-113 for Joshua and the others 115-113 and 116-112 for Usyk.
Fury met Usyk for the undisputed title in Riyadh on 18 May 2024. Usyk had him in trouble in round nine and won a split decision, 115-112 and 114-113, with the third judge scoring it 114-113 for Fury. The rematch on 21 December 2024 went to Usyk 116-112 on all three cards.
Each man had one judge in his corner across those four fights. Neither got closer than that.
What the shared results show
Across the same four opponents, the records are identical: three wins and two losses each, with both defeats coming against Usyk.
The method is where they split, and it is the detail worth weighing for anyone looking at boxing betting markets on the Cardiff fight. Joshua stopped all three of the shared opponents he beat. Fury stopped one of his three, Whyte, and went the distance with Klitschko and Ngannou.
The knockdowns tell a different story. Joshua was dropped by Klitschko and hurt badly by Whyte. Fury was put down by Ngannou, a man Joshua knocked out inside two rounds.
